Kicking off the itinerary, the delegation visited the National University of Singapore (NUS), where they engaged in discussions with Professor Wang Deyun, a tenured NUS professor who has co-led 3 research projects with TAH-SYSU since 2022, and his research team. They also toured NUS Hospital and NUS laboratories. During the visit, Professor Wang introduced the delegation to the university’s newly acquired cryo-electron microscope (cryo-EM), a tool that captures high-resolution images of biological molecules, and shared preliminary findings on its use in science research. Both sides agreed the application prospects of this technology, with in-depth discussions on potential joint studies.

Secretary Wu appreciated the achievements of long-standing cooperation between TAH-SYSU and NUS expert teams, emphasizing that the hospital prioritizes talent-driven development and the internationalization of its talent pool. She also sincerely invited NUS scholars to attend the upcoming 11th International Youth Scholars Forum hosted by TAH-SYSU. She noted that the visit aims to further deepen bilateral cooperation in talent development, scientific research, and other key areas, while providing young talents with diverse, high-quality international exchange opportunities. Professor Wang expressed high recognition of the proposal.

On November 15, the delegation attended Sun Yat-sen University’s Overseas Talent Meeting in Singapore. There, Director Zheng gave over 60 scholars from NUS, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and local research institutions a detailed breakdown of TAH-SYSU’s profile, disciplinary advantages, research platform capabilities, and talent recruitment and development policies, inviting them to join TAH-SYSU in shaping a brighter future. The introduction resonated warmly with attendees.

Talent is the cornerstone and inexhaustible driving force behind TAH-SYSU’s development. Moving forward, the hospital will remain committed to talent-led growth, deepen partnerships with top-tier overseas medical institutions and research institutes, build a global talent cooperation network, and establish a world-class hub for scientific research and clinical innovation.
